Biography
Oliver Sallet is a bilingual political correspondent with Germany's public ARD broadcaster. He has been reporting from the networks capital bureau since 2022. Before, he worked as Washington correspondent for Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
As a crisis reporter, Oliver reported from the hot spots of the European migration crisis, terror attacks, natural disasters and major political events: the election of Donald Trump, as well as the Brexit referendum.
Brexit and the migration crisis were subsequently important topics during his time as an EU correspondent at DW's Brussels bureau. He received the Accolade Award in 2018 for his report on the inhumane conditions of the refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos.
Oliver is a graduate of the German School of Journalism and the London School of Economics. He made his first experience in television as an intern at CNN in New York. This was followed by positions at the German public broadcasters ZDF in Mainz and ARD's Washington bureau.
